MSc in Health Economics

We plan to expand the health economics curriculum at the University of Lausanne by offering a Master of Science in Health Economics.

Prof. Jürgen Maurer has already been teaching a Master course in Health Economics which will form an important part of the new Masters. The envisioned Master will also combine other existing foundational courses from the economics, epidemiology, and public health curriculums with new courses offering more detailed insights into specific health economics topics (such as behavioral health economics and inequalities in health).

The goal of the MSc is to train students for careers as health economists in the public administration, non-profit-organizations, health insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, and research.
